Denison Beach and the Porches

The iconic Denison Beach is only 5 minutes’ drive or an enjoyable 15-minute walk from the retreats. The Porches is about an hour walk - These sandstone rock formations hang down from the cliffs resembling porches.

Douglas-Apsley National Park

This beautiful park features dry sclerophyll forest and riverside walking tracks, swimming holes, birdlife, and Oyster Bay pines.

​Freycinet National Park

A 40-minute drive from Denison Rivulet Retreats, Freycinet National Park is one of Tasmania’s oldest, best known and most loved national parks.

Diamond Island

At low tide, walk to Diamond Island along Redbill Beach to the spectacular Diamond Island reserve.

 

Bicheno Blowhole

Visit the Bicheno blowhole, which is amazing when the tides are right.

The walk to the top of the Whalers Lookout rock in Bicheno offers great views of the coastline

Penguins

Bicheno is resident to little Penguins.

The best way to see these amazing animals is through Bicheno Penguin Tours. They have nightly tours which offer a rare and thrilling chance to visit a private rookery. You can watch the fairy penguins (also known as the little penguin) emerge from the ocean and head for their homes.
